The Alliance for Virginia’s Students asked all Candidates for the November 4, 2003 election for the General Assembly to sign the “Pledge of Commitment to Virginia’s Students.”
The results – as of October 26, 2003:
House --
Of 144 candidates, 100 (69%) have signed the Pledge.
Of the 144 candidates, 89 are incumbents, 53 (59% of incumbents) of whom have signed the Pledge.
Senate --
Of 62 candidates, 42 (67%) have signed the Pledge.
Of the 62 candidates, 37 are incumbents, 20 (54% of incumbents) of whom have signed the Pledge.
Of 206 total candidates for the Senate and House, 142 (69%) have signed the Pledge.
